COME AS YOU ARE

What should we call you?

Just your name. We’ll remember you in this browser.

When you join someone, you’ll be connected so you can find each other next time.

ONE TAP AWAY

Make room on your Home Screen.

Open Chillin from its own icon whenever you want company.

Add to Home Screen is in your browser, outside the full-screen app. If you’re in Chillin, Telegram or another app, open this page in Chrome or Safari first.

iPhone or iPad
  1. In Chrome, tap Share beside the address bar. In Safari, tap Share (sometimes inside the ⋯ menu).
  2. Choose Add to Home Screen. If it’s missing, look in Edit Actions.
  3. If shown, turn on Open as Web App, then tap Add.
  4. Open Chillin from the new icon on your Home Screen.
Android
  1. Open this page in Chrome and tap the ⋮ menu.
  2. Choose Add to Home screen or Install and create shortcut.
  3. Tap Install (or Add), then open Chillin from its new icon.

Camera & microphone

Chillin remembers whether you want your camera and mic on. Your browser or device controls permission to use them.

Why does my iPhone keep asking?

The Home Screen app may ask again when you reopen it. iOS controls that permission, so Chillin can’t make it stay allowed.

For per-site controls, open Chillin in Safari. Open the page menu, tap the more button (⋯), then find Camera and Microphone under Website Settings. Set each to Allow.

Those Safari settings may not carry over to the Home Screen app. If you switch browsers, recover your saved profile there to keep your people.

A heads-up when your people are around

How to turn on notifications

When notifications are available:

  1. On iPhone or iPad, install Chillin first, then open it from the Home Screen. You’ll need iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or newer.
  2. In Chillin, tap your profile in the top right.
  3. Tap Enable notifications, then choose Allow when your device asks.

If you’ve already blocked them, allow notifications in your browser’s site settings. For the iPhone or iPad app, check Settings → Notifications → Chillin.

You can turn them off in your profile or mute individual people there.

Keep your little corner

Install before setting up your profile if you can. Different browsers and the Home Screen app can have separate profiles, so check that your people are there when you open the icon.

Adding the icon doesn’t back up your profile. For now, use the same browser or app to return. Clearing its data or wiping your device can lose access to your name and connections; account recovery isn’t available yet.

A heads-up from your people

Know when a friend starts hanging out, or rings your bell while you’re away.

Your people

Your name and connections are saved in this browser. Telegram’s browser, Safari and Chrome each have their own profile. Use the same browser to return to your people. Forgetting it starts a new profile.
